How to change a light bulb?
How to change a light bulb?
When it comes to this task, most people think that it is nothing complicated. However, obstacles may also be encountered when changing the bulb.
Some information about bulbs
You should also pay attention to workplace safety when you change or install a light bulb for the first time. More importantly, this means you have to turn off fuses even when you change a light bulb. In fact, it is very easy for you to touch the live light and receive an electric shock, which is really dangerous. The voltage is quite high, so such an accident could cause you serious health problems.
The first thing to do when buying a new lamp is to think about the bulb base, which belongs to this type. You can always find this information in the description of the luminaire. Some bulbs are screwed into the fixture, others simply plugged in. Screw-in bulbs have an E27 base, which is the most common wide base, or an E14 base, which is a little narrower. Other types of light sources are snap-on or plugged in. However, each light fixture should always come with instructions describing how to install the bulbs.
Safety first
Even when changing or installing a light bulb for the first time, one should not forget about the safety of this work. Importantly, this means that even if you only change one bulb, you should have the fuses cut. It is very easy for you to touch the live lamp and get an electric shock, which is really dangerous. Blood pressure is quite high and an accident like this could cause you serious health problems.
As for the types of bulbs, you can choose between classic bulbs, energy-saving lamps or LED lamps. With a light fixture with a narrow shade, it is best to avoid low-calorie bulbs. There is a risk that the heat generated will ignite the lampshade and set it on fire.

Types of lamps
Conventional bulbs are the least expensive, but have the shortest lifespan. Energy-saving lamps that last longer are just a little more expensive. You save much more electricity with LED lamps, which also have the longest lifespan. Which bulb you choose is entirely up to you. The price of an LED bulb is often much higher than a traditional or low-energy bulb, but this investment is worth it in view of its lifespan.

Luminaires with LED modules and replacement of a classic fluorescent lamp with an LED tube
If you have purchased a luminaire with an integrated LED module, you will certainly be interested to know whether the light source can be changed. Since these fixtures have a lifespan of up to 50,000 operating hours, it is assumed that the fixture will be functional until a new fixture is purchased. However, if an exchange proves necessary, this is of course possible. However, this task is not suitable for common users. You should always consult an electrician who should have no problems with the replacement.
The same applies if you want to replace a classic fluorescent lamp with an LED tube. With the fluorescent lamp, unfortunately, this is not as easy as with light bulbs, where the classic bulb is simply replaced by an LED bulb. Although the change is possible, it is not recommended for laymen, as it involves considerable interference with the luminaire. You should really leave this to a professional, because if they are just a little trained and skilled, they will have no problem with the swap.
If you want to have a lamp with an LED tube at home, it would definitely be better to buy a new lamp that was manufactured for this lamp. You can invest the money you invested in customization into a new lamp and play it safe. So, if you want to buy a new light fixture or just want to change the existing bulbs, think carefully about which ones suit you best, also depending on the type of light fixture.
